Heating and cooling for rooms and homes without ducts, from classic brick bungalows to finished attics and home offices, installed with a designer's eye.
Ductless mini splits are heat pumps that deliver heating and cooling directly to individual rooms, with no ductwork required. They are the cleanest way to add air conditioning to an older Denver home, fix a room that never gets comfortable, or condition an addition, attic, garage gym or studio. Besties HVAC Solutions designs and installs single-zone and multi-zone systems with cold-climate equipment and careful attention to how the finished install looks.
Because these systems live in your rooms, placement, line set routing and finish details matter. We treat them that way.
Wall-mounted heads are the most familiar style, but they are not the only choice. Ceiling cassettes sit nearly flush in the ceiling, floor consoles suit sunrooms and spaces under windows, and concealed slim-ducted units hide in a soffit, closet or attic with only discreet grilles visible. We help you choose by room, so the system disappears into the design. Outside, line set covers painted to match the home keep the exterior tidy.
We install cold-climate models designed to keep heating on frigid nights, mounted on stands or brackets that keep the outdoor unit above drifting snow and allow defrost water to drain away without building an ice dam. Condensate is routed to drain properly, with pumps where needed. In homes with gas heat, ductless heads often run as the primary heat in their zones for most of the season, with the existing system as backup.
Qualifying heat pump installations may be eligible for Xcel Energy and Colorado incentives. Some households may qualify for combined incentives of up to $12,250. We confirm current eligibility and prepare the paperwork. For whole-home ducted options, see heat pump installation.
A single-zone system pairs one outdoor unit with one indoor unit, which is ideal for one room, an addition or a garage space, and keeps every zone independent. A multi-zone system connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, which reduces the number of condensers outside the home. Multi-zone systems need careful sizing, because each indoor unit should match its room rather than be oversized for convenience. In larger homes we often combine approaches: a ducted system for the main living areas and ductless heads for spaces the ducts never reached.
Indoor units have washable filters that should be cleaned regularly, and the coils and blower wheels benefit from periodic professional cleaning to prevent odors and keep airflow strong. Outdoor units need clear airflow and a clear path for defrost water. Our Comfort Club plans include ductless systems, so every head and condenser gets attention on a schedule.
